Carryon Luggage: What to look for
Carryon airline luggage is becoming more and more popular as travelers try to make their flying experiences quicker and easier, avoiding checked bags altogether. As a result, travelers are demanding better carryon luggage which maximizes airline standards and includes all the features which make their travel lives easier. When choosing your next carryon airline luggage, be sure to consider the following things.
Transportation: Since your carryon luggage will be with you throughout your travels and never given to the airline to check, it's crucial that it be easy to transport. The first thing that means is choosing airline carryon luggage with good, solid wheels. Those wheels will need to let your luggage glide through the airport, but may also need to last through pebbly streets and other not quite perfectly smooth services. Wheels are of utmost importance.
Besides wheels, good airline carryon luggage needs to have a nice long handle by which you can pull it. If it's too short, you'll have to bend over, which, let me tell you, is not very comfortable for long periods of time! Also, be sure your carryon luggage has a good alternate handle by which you can carry it up stairs and other places where the wheels won't work.
Size: For good carryon luggage, size is a major factor. While airlines have different maximum sizes they will allow to be carried onto the plane, as long as you choose carryon luggage which is approximately small enough you should be fine. One way to maximize your space, and minimize the risk that you won't have enough room to bring home travel souvenirs is to buy expandable carryon luggage. Once you've opened up the extra expanded space the luggage may become too big to be carried on the airline, but at least you'll have a way to transport your extra things.
Extra Features: Finally, there are a lot of useful extra features out there which bring airline carryon luggage from good to great. Outside pockets are one of those features. They're especially useful for airline carryon luggage now that the requirements for liquids are so strict. Outside pockets make it much easier to pull those liquids out for security and put them right back in without disturbing the whole suitcase.
Other great features to look for in airline carryon luggage are things like built-in garment bags (I have luggage with this feature and it is so helpful for keeping nice clothes unwrinkled!) and detachable toiletry compartments. It's the little things that add up to fabulous airline carryon luggage!
